Medical/Scientific Director- CME- Remote Opportunity

RMEI Medical Education, LLC, is seeking a full-time Medical/Scientific Director who is excited by outcomes-based innovative educational design and delivery and wants to make a difference. We are a growing, independently owned, innovative, and team-spirited continuing medical education (CME) provider located in Voorhees, NJ. Remote opportunity available.

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with planning, writing, and directing content for medical education programs, proposals, and needs assessments in a variety of therapeutic areas. The Medical Director may be asked to participate in medical strategy activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • ► Design, implement, direct, and manage scientific/medical content in a variety of formats including needs assessments, proposals, and medical education programs/curricula in association with the medical education team and freelance/contract writers
  • ► Develop and supervise content for medical/scientific accuracy, and compliance
  • ► Provide mentoring, training, direction, and peer review for internal and external medical writers
  • ► Accurately interpret and apply data including medical and scientific data and educational outcomes data
  • ► Provide insight regarding evidence-based medical information, emerging therapies, practice-related issues, and medical education and pharmaceutical industry trends for strategic business planning
  • ► Establish clear communication and effective relationships with supporters, contributing faculty, and educational partners
  • ► Develop successful working interactions with editorial, graphics, business development services, and project management teams
  • ► Analyze outcomes and survey data to generate capabilities presentations, supporter reports and presentations, needs data, abstracts and presentations for industry meetings and publications
  • ► Deliver quality products efficiently under multiple timelines
  • ► Attend national and international programs developed and/or managed by RMEI
  • ► Attend national CE conferences
  • ► Ensure corporate adherence to all external and internal compliance policies and guidelines
  • ► Up to 20% travel required in this position (including nights and weekends)

Requirements:

  • ► Hold one or more of the following degrees; MD, DO, NP, PhD, PharmD and have 5-7 years+ experience in content development for a continuing medical education (CME) company
  • ► Therapeutic expertise, background/experience in respiratory, Rheumatoid Arthritis, dermatology, cardiology, diabetes are a plus
  • ► Understand and have vast experience in writing and directing scientific content for medical education activities in a medical education environment
  • ► Knowledge of industry compliance/guidelines (ie; OIG, HIPAA, PhRMA, ACCME)
  • ► Perform all essential job functions under the constraint of tight timelines
  • ► Able to prioritize multiple tasks and willing to accommodate to the changing demands of each project
  • ► Contribute to overall project as well as strategic goals
  • ► Excellent organizational, oral and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • ► Proficiency in advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Editorial Intern

RMEI Medical Education LLC, a full-service medical education company, is seeking a part-time editorial intern to assist the Senior Medical Editor with editorial reviews, proofreading, and fact checking of medical education activities per the RMEI Style Guide and AMA Manual of Style. The internship is part-time with a minimum time commitment of 16 hours a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • ► Proofread and fact check a variety of medical education and patient education materials (ie, registration websites, online activities, PowerPoint slide presentations, transcripts, journal articles, program workbooks, posters, marketing materials, etc.) for adherence to organization and style guidelines and to verify that editor's and author's corrections are incorporated at each stage.
  • ► Ensure correct grammar, spelling, usage, and adherence to AMA, ACCME, company, and client styles (when appropriate)
  • ► Perform online research as necessary (ie, verifying terminology citations, Pub Med searches, etc.)
  • ► Conduct necessary background research and literature searches

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • ► Current Junior, Senior or Graduate level student pursing a Bachelor/ Master’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or relevant degree
  • ► Strong written and verbal communication skills, advanced grammar and writing skills
  • ► Self-starter and problem solver, with attention to detail
  • ► Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • ► Familiar with Microsoft Excel
  • ► Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint

Director, Educational Strategy (CME)

RMEI Medical Education, LLC is a dynamic, independently-owned provider of accredited continuing medical education and is seeking a full-time Director of Educational Strategy to grow company revenue from grant funding. This individual is adept at researching, pursuing and securing educational grant support from biopharma companies, foundations, and other sources including federal and state government. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of creative, medical, and operations experts to produce innovative educational initiatives that impact patient care.

RMEI’s corporate office is located in Voorhees, NJ. Remote opportunity available.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • ► Work with the VP, Educational Strategy, CEO, and other internal stakeholders to develop and execute annual and quarterly strategic development plans to increase revenue related to grant funding and diversify and grow RMEI’s supporter base.
  • ► Provide strategic insight regarding potential changes in pharmaceutical support, such as mergers or acquisitions, drug development, drug approvals, changes in supporter grant office staffing etc.
  • ► Work with the Strategic Development Team and collaborative partners to plan and develop relationships with associations, foundations, electronic health record companies, and health systems, etc., that will allow RMEI to expand and diversify current educational offerings.
  • ► Continuously identify potential new grantors and alternate sources of funding, and educational grant development opportunities.
  • ► Develop relationships and maintain frequent contact with new and existing grant funders as appropriate.
  • ► In association with other members of the Strategic Development Team, and in compliance with existing rules and regulations; to determine available funding and strategic plans, follow up with grantors on submitted requests; provide status updates and reports, and report and/or work with appropriate education team members to resolve supporter related issues.
  • ► Assist the Strategic Development Team in planning and developing grant proposals; includes review and preparation of grant proposals.
  • ► Work with Accounting Department to assist in the development of proposal budgets.
  • ► Collaborate with Associate Director of Outcomes/Analytics on the development of outcomes-based individualized capabilities presentations.
  • ► Provide continuous market analysis on all key competitors; their services; acquisitions and pricing.
  • ► Review launched live, print and digital programs to ensure all deliverables are met to satisfaction and on budget.
  • ► Understand relevant healthcare industry regulations and compliance requirements affecting new and existing business.

Requirements:

  • ► Five (5+) or more years of experience in grant development for accredited Continuing Medical Education or other relevant healthcare media role.
  • ► Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in a Science or Business/Marketing field is preferred. An advanced degree is a strong plus.
  • ► Existing relationships with educational grants decision-makers that directly impact new business opportunities is desired and beneficial.
  • ► Knowledge of rules, regulations and professional norms pertaining to the continuing education of healthcare professionals and industry-supported grants.
  • ► High degree of comfort with initiating new relationships, and expertise at relationship management strategies and tactics.
  • ► Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship building skills
  • ► Exceptional research, organizational and planning skills.
  • ► Knowledge, understanding and creativity to develop, discuss and explain strategic marketing and educational programs.
  • ► Microsoft Office product proficiency.
